The Night That Was Not

It was a moonlit night. A full moon was shining brightly in the night sky, with stars twinkling in the background, a cool breeze was in the air. He did not know what it was…but there was something in that night. He would never have thought that it would actually happen…but it did…he let the chips fall as they were going to...a moment he would never forget in his life. As usual, they both went to the roof of the Computer Engineering block, the sun had just set when they arrived. Nightfall had just begun. She again reminded him that it was a full moon night. He looked up at the sky, the moon was distinctly visible, just beginning to illuminate in the growingly dark sky. It was not the first time that she had reminded him this…she had not missed a single full moon night since she was 8. When they walked around the college campus, she had pointed it out a few times and each time she did…he was left in total amazement. They sat there…sitting under the light of the full moon…the scene so...

I wasn't looking for anything or in the dark I could not, people all around but still all alone, looking around, myself was all I got. I was wanting something, something I wasn't ready to admit, I had killed myself in the process, by going deeper into the pit. Then somebody removed the shroud, I could see what they called light, it all seemed so odd at first, but I could see the colors, new colors all so bright. Someone was now helping me, helping me to see the sights, we saw it all together, bright days, setting suns, lighted paths and moonlit nights. Always beside me I could see, a hand that I could hold, Was this that I was looking for? Had I ever got this feeling? living all too cold. Everything and anything for a smile I did, that smile slowly became mine, Is it bad that this happened? I really don't know if I crossed the line. Was I better alone I wonder, with no expectations whatsoever, caring for no one but me, Was it better not to ...
